What you will learn

Record a sale in person, mark it paid with cash or transfer, or send the customer a payment link.

Before you start

Open the Oja merchant app and sign in with your store account. Make sure you have a stable internet connection. Some features (like advanced analytics) require an active subscription.

Step-by-step guide

Follow these steps in order:

  1. Go to Orders and tap the + (Create order) button.
  2. Search for products and tap to add them to the cart. Adjust quantities with + and −.
  3. Enter Customer details: name, phone, email, and delivery address if needed.
  4. Tap the delivery row to choose a delivery zone and fee.
  5. Under Payment, set status to Paid, Unpaid, or Partially paid. If paid, pick the method (Cash, Bank transfer, POS, Paystack, Oja Terminal, WhatsApp, etc.).
  6. Choose the sales Channel (e.g. Offline, POS, WhatsApp, Instagram) so you know where the sale came from.
  7. Add order notes or apply taxes if your store uses them.
  8. Tap Create order to save, or use the option to generate a shareable payment link for the customer to pay online.
  9. Use Minimize at the top if you need to pause and finish another order later.

Helpful tips

Keep these in mind:

  1. From the Customers tab you can start a new order for an existing customer with their details pre-filled.

If something goes wrong

Try this first:

  1. Pull down to refresh the screen if data looks outdated.
  2. Sign out and sign back in if buttons do not respond.
  3. Update the app to the latest version from your app store.
  4. Take a screenshot of any error message and contact Oja support.
