Turn on the floating WhatsApp chat button so customers can message you directly from your store.

Before you start

Open the Oja merchant app and sign in with your store account. Make sure you have a stable internet connection. Some features (like advanced analytics) require an active subscription.

Step-by-step guide

Follow these steps in order:

  1. Open More → Settings → Theme & branding (store customization).
  2. Tap the Contact section.
  3. Turn on WhatsApp Chat Button (Show a floating WhatsApp button on your storefront).
  4. Enter your WhatsApp Number in international format (e.g. +234 800 000 0000). Use the same number you use for business WhatsApp.
  5. Save the section.
  6. Visit your storefront link and confirm the green WhatsApp button appears in the corner.
  7. Optional: Under More → Settings → Social channels & inbox, you can also connect WhatsApp for order messaging and click-to-chat integrations.

Helpful tips

Keep these in mind:

  1. Reply quickly on WhatsApp — many buyers decide to purchase based on your first response.
  2. Keep your store phone number updated in Contact so SMS and WhatsApp codes work for withdrawals and verification.

If something goes wrong

Try this first:

  1. Pull down to refresh the screen if data looks outdated.
  2. Sign out and sign back in if buttons do not respond.
  3. Update the app to the latest version from your app store.
  4. Take a screenshot of any error message and contact Oja support.
